Our Policy on Oppression
If a customer segment you sell to promotes racism, irrational hatred, or false information, or commits unjust violence towards another group, we expect a meaningful public response from your organization. If you decline to respond, we may terminate services.
We furthermore encourage our clients to proactively speak out in situations of mass injustice. As activist Desmond Tutu says,
“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”
The simplest way to take action is to write a social media statement, and hold discussions with employees and customers. You can also make donations, write a blog post or create a video. If an issue is important to your brand values, but not directly tied to your product or service, you can support an existing grassroots movement. If an issue is integral to your brand, you can go a step further by starting a movement.
While we may advocate for one group or another at any given time, we care about justice, safety and prosperity for everyone. We always welcome you to submit statistics or articles about the experiences of any particular group you would like us to consider bringing attention to.
Our Policy on Violent Organizations
We will not tolerate any client participating in or facilitating the supply of violent organizations or extremist groups.
We support and appreciate the thousands of ethical law enforcement officers who serve the United States. We also recognize the conclusions of the Report of the International Commission of Inquiry on Systematic Racist Police Violence Against People of African Descent in the United States, which has concluded that American police are committing crimes against humanity. We furthermore have observed the widespread attacks by American police on peaceful protesters, legal observers, street medics and journalists.
If you facilitate the supply of law enforcement agencies, in order for us to serve you, you will need to satisfactorily audit your customers to ensure they’re not taking part in these crimes and public safety violations.
